Dr. Hamad is a breast surgeon. She formerly held the position of Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at the university of Massachusetts Medical Center. A native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, she attended undergraduate at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she receive a B.A in Chemistry. She attained her Medical Degree from ECU School of Medicine where she was elected to the AOA Medical Honer Society in her junior year. Dr. Hamad completed here general surgical training at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. The following year she received additional training in the comprehensive & surgical management of breast disease and worked at UMASS Breast Center.
Dr. Hamad is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is Breast Ultrasound Certified by the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Disease.
Dr. Hamad has served as Chair of the Department of Surgery and Chair of the Operating Room Committee at WakeMed Cary Hospital. Dr. Hamad is proficient in minimally invasive breast biopsy procedures, such as in Office Ultrasound and Ultrasound Guided Biopsies, as well as Stereotactic Breast Biopsies.
In addition to her interest in breast disease, Dr. Hamad does practice General and Laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Malik completed his undergraduate studies at Union College in Schenectady, New York, where he graduated with an honors degree in biology. He obtained his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He has taken additiona laparoscopic courses at George Washington University Medical Center.
Dr. Malik is a member of the the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the North Carolina Medical Society. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Malik is currently serving as the Vice Chair of The Department of Surgery Committee and Chair of the Department of Surgery Quality Improvement Committee at Wake Med Cary Hospital.
Dr. Malik interests lie in the advanced laparoscopic surgery, including inguinal and ventral hernia repair, appendectomy, colectomy and laparoscopic nissen fundoplication. >
He also has experience in and enjoys endocrine surgeries such as thyroidectomy and parathyroidectomy.
